Glass is a popular packaging material but traditional clear and amber glass don’t fully protect herbs from light. Dr. Hugo Niggli and Dr. Max Bracher tested chives stored in different colored glasses.
Findings: Chives kept in violet glass retained more bio-energy (vital force) than those in clear or amber glass. This was true whether the samples were stored in light or dark conditions. The same trend was observed in other herbs like parsley and dill. Over 15 months, herbs in violet glass maintained better freshness compared to those in clear or amber glass.
Conclusion: Violet glass helps preserve the quality of herbs better than traditional glass, proving effective for long-term storage
